Sadaqah Shield

Terms of Sale

Last updated August 2026

The short version: Sadaqah Shield is free. Every blocking feature works without paying anything and without an account. The only money that ever moves is the sadaqah you voluntarily pledge against your own slip-ups — you set the amount, you set the weekly cap, and nothing is charged unless you add a payment method and actually slip.

Ask us for a refund and you will get one. Email support@sadaqahshield.com. See the refund section below for the details.

Who you are buying from

Sadaqah Shield is sold and operated by the developer of Sadaqah Shield, reachable at support@sadaqahshield.com. Google is not the seller. The Chrome Web Store distributes the extension, but any charge on your statement originates from us through our payment processor, and any question about that charge should come to us.

What is free

All of it, in the ordinary sense. Site and keyword blocking, categories, Clean Shields, schedules, focus sessions, timers, daily usage limits, SafeSearch, streaks, statistics, the accountability partner, and settings sync across your devices are available at no charge. There is no paid tier, no trial that expires, and no feature held back behind a payment.

You do not need an account to block sites. An account exists so your settings can follow you between your own devices and so the pledge feature can work.

What you are actually charged for

One thing only: the sadaqah you pledged against your own blocked attempts. This is a charitable donation you choose to commit to, not a fee for using the software. We do not keep it as profit — it is passed to the charity you selected.

How the donation reaches the charity

Your card is charged first, and the donation to your chosen charity is then made from that amount through our donation partner. These are two separate steps, which means they can come apart: it is possible for a charge to succeed and the donation step to fail — for example if the donation service is unavailable at that moment.

When that happens, the pledge stays recorded as awaiting donation and is retried automatically on later runs until it goes through. We would rather tell you this plainly than let you discover it. If you ever see a charge that has not resulted in a donation, contact us and we will either complete it or refund you, whichever you prefer.

Tax receipts, where available, are issued by the donation partner directly to the email address on your account. Because we do not ask for your legal name, the receipt uses a name derived from your email address.

Refunds

If you ask for a refund of a sadaqah charge, we will give you one. There is no qualifying condition and no form. Email support@sadaqahshield.com from the address on your account, tell us which charge, and we will process it.

We will refund in full, without argument, in every one of these cases:

One honest limitation: once a donation has already been passed to the charity, that money is genuinely gone to them and we cannot claw it back from the charity. In that situation we will still refund you ourselves where we reasonably can, and we will always tell you exactly what happened rather than hiding behind the transfer.

Refunds are returned to the original payment method. Your bank typically takes five to ten business days to show it.

Failed payments

If a weekly charge fails — an expired card, insufficient funds — the pledge is recorded as failed and we do not silently retry it against your card indefinitely. You will be able to see it in your donation history. Blocking continues to work normally; a failed payment never disables the extension.

Cancelling

Pause the weekly sadaqah, or remove your saved payment method, from Settings inside the extension. Either stops future charges immediately. Deleting your account removes your data and your saved payment reference altogether.

Uninstalling the extension does not by itself cancel a saved payment method — if you have one saved and want it gone, remove it in Settings or email us and we will remove it for you.
